the thing i miss most about home is the scenery; d.c. is seriously lacking the sweeping mountain and sea views, and a hike here is nothing like a hike up snoqualmie or rainier. i captured this image on one such outing with two of my old (and favorite) campaign colleagues on a chilly spring day and i just can’t get enough of that green.

i took this on my last night in europe after an astounding spring quarter abroad, my junior year of college. solo for only one night in london and exploring trafalgar square, i caught some whispery clouds at just the right moment when the sunset hit. this is the time in my life that i feel the most nostalgic about, so i am grateful that i had my trusty camera in hand the whole way through.
