matt and i were lucky enough to sneak away to the outer banks for an extended weekend this week, a combination celebration of his birthday and congress breaking for the august recess. after a menacing, traffic-ridden drive down on saturday afternoon, we checked into the (lovely) seaside inn on hatteras island and bolted immediately for the sand with a cheap bottle of wine and our chairs. here are a few shots from our first day; more to come!
p.s. thank you to matt for being patient with my clicking! anyone close to me can tell you that i am a slow mover when my camera is in hand, and that i become a bit of a paparazzi-freak, too.
